MAIN FEATURES AND APPLICABILITY

S4GA lighting system is 100 % off-grid system energized from solar panels as a primary source of power. The energy is stored in power banks – primary and backup battery in each of the lights. Monitoring and control in S4GA runway lighting system is performed by wireless mesh network.

S4GA solar airfield lighting system is primarily designed as permanent or semi-permanent lighting system for regional and domestic airports with visual approach or non-precision approach. Only 20 – 30 days are required for full lighting system installation, instead of 6 – 8 months applicable for conventional AGL.

Unlike conventional hard-wired lighting systems, S4GA systems are safer, more reliable and flexible, easier to install, operate and maintain and cheaper with regard to CAPEX and OPEX costs.

THE HIGHEST SAFETY & RELIABILITY

With S4GA airport operator has zero risk of complete loss of power supply (blackouts), unlike conventional AGL systems with many bottle necks. Because of the following 5-LEVEL PROTECTION AGAINST SYSTEM FAILURE, S4GA lighting system is the safest AGL system in the world:

Level 1: Distributed power source

Level 2: Backup power supply

Level 3: Power independent from control

Level 4: Individual light status monitoring

Level 5: Control system back-up

WHY SOLAR – COSTS AND CO2 SAVINGS

Solar energy is one of the constantly growing renewables. 400 gigawatts of energy are consumed annually by international airports. About € 100 000 are spent annually by an average European international airport on powering its airfield lighting system.

Solar airfield systems reduce such electricity costs to zero. 200 tons of CO2 emissions can be also saved, with solar power.
